Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was 6 yrs old. I am the captain of my select team. I am very dedicated to soccer; I am also a team player. I get along very well with my coaches and teammates. I am 6??. 0?? feet tall, I weigh 160 pounds, and I run 4.4 seconds in a 40-yard dash. My club team won the NASA tournament last season, I was voted MVP. Some of the qualities that I posses and will bring to a college team are leadership skills, a very strong passion for soccer, superior intelligence, physical strength, excellent soccer skills, and the mentality to perform with pride and tenacity towards winning. I push myself and my team mates to all give 100% of on the field and in the classroom at all times. Soccer and my grade point average are key elements to opening the door for my college education. I will do my best to continue being prepared for an opportunity to fulfill my dream. I practice, train, and study with earnest to prepare myself for the challenges that lie ahead. I do not miss a day of school or soccer practice unless either is canceled. I show up at soccer practice ready to work hard and with the same intensity as I have for a game. Presently, the size of college is not of importance to me; my concern is to get into a college where I can play soccer and get a good college education. I am from a single parent household, my dad passed away when I was only 6 years old. My goal for the next 1- 11/2 years is to focus on getting selected for a 4 year college scholarship. This opportunity will help me create a better future for me and my mother.
