Personal Statement
Upon stepping onto the soccer field at the age of four, I developed an intense love for the game. Through the years I have also come to understand that in addition to playing soccer in college, I am a student athlete first and foremost and therefore strive to take courses and earn grades that exemplify the aforementioned. Consequently, I want and need to choose a university that will benefit me in numerous ways; academically, socially, and emotionally. Furthermore, my goal is to be at a university in which I can make a difference on campus and in the local community. Athletically, I am willing to push myself to the limit and beyond, both on and off the field, while doing everything I can not to cause preventable harm to my body. In addition to mental and physical toughness, on more than one occasion I have been praised by coaches for my ability to maintain a level head in the midst of chaotic situations on the field. Having entered my junior year in high school, the drive to improve upon my skills as well as face tougher opponents has increased my love for the game of soccer immensely. Moreover, having attended multiple college ID camps during this past summer, I am ecstatic that I continue to receive valuable feedback and my knowledge of the game continues to grow. Lastly, I cannot stress enough the enjoyment that I experience from playing soccer and how eager I am to continue to improve so that I can play at the next level.
