Personal Statement

Hi, I’m  Evan Carnazzo from Idaho Falls, Idaho.  I am a 18-year-old high school student about to complete my Senior year ahead of cirriculum.  Originally a California boy, my family laid down roots and started calling Idaho home in 2009. I am officially a “speedster”.  I’ve played a little bit of baseball, some lacrosse but can officially say that soccer is my sport.  I do have to say though that my second passion is snow skiing.  I can’t wait for that first snow to fall and plow through that first powder where I can only see my own tracks.   Anyway,  back to soccer.  It became my sport around the 6th grade.  I love the freedom of no gear to weigh me down.  The freedom to run hard and fast beating the competition to the ball, helping my team all along the way.

For the last 5+ years, I’ve been a part of a club soccer team traveling throughout the mountain states competing in multiple tournaments while also playing on my junior high and high school teams.  Soccer is my motivator.  It motivates me to do good in school, to work hard and support others.  It keeps me focused.  I love soccer because it is extremely fun and it challenges me to think in different ways, as well as make hard and fast decisions.  This past fall season of my high school season we became district champions following along with placing 3rd in the state tournament. Soccer to me is something more than a sport. I have a passion for the game, this sport has become a part of me because I have been playing it for over half of my life and I want to continue to play until I physically can’t.  Given the chance to play soccer at a college-level...I will NOT let anyone down.
