Drew Otten '19 Recruiting Profile

When I was 9 years old, I played baseball to see if I liked the sport.   After the season was over I realized that baseball was too slow for me and it was just a bunch of standing around waiting for your turn to do something and when you did, it only lasted about 30 seconds.   Soon after some of my friends were talking about going to the fields to play soccer after school which started to make me want to try it.   After playing for a while, I really starting to like the sport I decided to play in an local recreational league. I love the atmosphere of being on a soccer team and always being able to do something on the field. Then after a couple years of playing the sport I heard about the famous World Cup and that it was about to begin. I watched the World Cup from the very beginning and I started to grow a passion for soccer and how much of an effect it can have on you. I cheered  for Germany since the very first bracket and when they one the World Cup I realized that soccer was my sport and I loved to play it. Now my goal is to build my skills as a soccer player and reach my full potential.   After playing soccer for a while I've learned that I need improvement and I must work and practice to  be where I want to be in soccer and in general, life.
