Personal Statement
My name is Bennett Nippert. I currently play center back both at Eclipse Select SC on the ECNL U19 team where I also previously served as Captain, and at Geneva Community High School in Geneva, IL where I am a senior and have been a member of the varsity team since my sophomore year.
I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and have always sought out opportunities to play against the toughest competition I could, including playing USL SuperY for multiple years, being an ODP Illinois State Team player, and now playing at one of the top ECNL clubs in the nation.
My style of play is that of a modern Center Back...strong leadership, constant communication, being physically dominant, employing soccer IQ to gain advantage, fearless in the air, well-timed 1v1 tackling & rundowns, set piece attacking, and being possession-oriented tactically with the ball on either foot.
My goal is to continue playing the game I love in college at the highest level I possibly can. I am looking for a strong academic institution with a successful soccer program. I am comfortable running in either a 4 or 3-back formation as the left or right Center Back or as the central or 2 outside Center Backs, respectively.
I take pride in being a leader both on and off the field. In the classroom, I challenge myself by taking a full AP/honors course load each semester and participating on academic competition teams for my school. On the pitch, each day I come determined to work my hardest and be as coachable as possible to help better the team’s success and further my individual development. In college I plan to study Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Business.
