Personal Statement
I am a strong student/athlete looking for an academically challenging school and a soccer program, which will allow me to be a contributor to the team's success. I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and balancing AP classes. I am looking for the next challenge in my soccer career as well as academically, at the collegiate level.
A significant part of my soccer development was participating in the Olympic Development Program for the state of Illinois and Region 2 teams. The training and tryout formats, and the intense learning environment, taught me how to quickly adapt to the players and coaches around me. I successfully made the Illinois team, the last 3 years playing in a Center Defensive position. I also made the ODP Region 2 team the past 2 years, playing in the USYS ODP Inter-Regional event, playing against players from all over the country. Since I have been playing on both state and Region teams, we have had a very strong team, and have not lost a game in my age group since I have been participating at both State and Region levels.
My vision on the field and touch on the ball are my biggest assets. Each team at the club, High School, and ODP levels I have enjoyed playing out of the back. I am calm and confident on the ball, and am able to see how the play will develop and then execute on the pitch. My size also allows me to play physically in the defense, when it is required, and at 6' tall I am strong in the air in attack or defense. Although my left foot is dominant, and play well with both feet, and as you will see in my highlight video's, many of my shots and passes are done with either foot. This is something I have worked hard on, since I was young.
I am looking for the right opportunity, to play under the right coaching staff, the right system of play/training and the collegiate environment to allow me to continue to grow as an athlete and academically.
