Personal Statement
Off the pitch, my friends would describe me as friendly, humorous, and laid back. I love music. I've played drums for six years and play in the school band. I also enjoy playing the piano in my free time. Throughout the years, I have volunteered to pick up garbage in the community parks, collected donations for the homeless, and led a multi-grade group during "Acts of Kindness Week".
On the soccer pitch, I am fully driven and energized. I pride myself on giving my best at all practices and games, and my team knows they can depend on me to protect the goal.
I have learned many leadership skills through soccer. For one, I am a great communicator. As a goalie, I see the pitch the best, and I direct my team and encourage. Also, I am quick to pick up guidance and technical skill. Sportsmanship is another skill that I demonstrate. All of these skills translate into my leadership and respect on school sports teams and in the classroom.
What I enjoy the most about my soccer experiences is competitiveness and working as a team. I want to continue improving my game and showing people what I can do. I look forward to more provincial invitations, playing competitive soccer in university and beyond.
