Personal Statement

My name is Tyler Fear. I am currently heading into my senior year at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Class of 2022). I am on the varsity soccer team and can play multiple positions. I have been playing soccer for most of my life. I am dedicated and focused on my goal of playing soccer collegiately. I want to find a college that is the right fit for me, where I will feel part of a family and have a chance to increase my soccer knowledge and abilities. I have a strong work ethic, solid values and I never give up. I currently have a 4.0 GPA.

Club Overview: PSC Iowa is a premier level soccer club based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are a nonprofit organization that offers developmental, competitive, and recreational youth soccer programs for children ages 4-18. PSC Iowa is at the fore-front of the exciting future of U.S. youth soccer at the very highest levels. In 2013, PSC Iowa was selected by Italian professional soccer club U.C. Sampdoria as an official Academy Club Partner. When Sampdoria changed ownership, PSC Iowa was solicited to be an official Academy Club Partner of cross town Serie A rivals Genoa C.F.C., the oldest soccer club in Italy and winner of 9 Serie A titles. As the only Iowa club--but part of the growing number of elite clubs across the country--with a partnership contract with a top-level European professional team, PSC Iowa offers opportunities to youth soccer players that cannot be matched by any other club in the state. In addition to providing a defined, direct pathway to European professional soccer for those with the talent and aspiration, PSC Iowa is integrated with Genoa C.F.C. by implementing the Italian Serie A club's player development philosophies and methods throughout PSC. This collaboration between PSC Iowa and Genoa coaches on cirriculum and training techniques benefits all players in the PSC Iowa organization. PSC Iowa programs include professionally coached boys and girls age group teams from under-7 through under-19, developmental teams and leagues for under-5 through under-8, and recreational teams and leagues for under-9 through under-12. Our teams compete outdoors in the fall and spring seasons and indoors during the winter months. Our Mission Offer the best opportunity for children to reach their soccer potential and goals while developing a life-long love for the game. PSC Iowa's mission is to offer the best opportunity for children to reach their soccer potential and goals while developing a life-long love for the game. We achieve this by developing each individual within a team environment. This not only creates a true love for the game of soccer and provides the proper context for high-level individual development, but also teaches the more important life skills of leadership, teamwork, and how to set, pursue, and achieve group goals. PSC Iowa takes the long-view towards youth development and is committed to achieving our mission while providing a safe, fun, and caring environment which empowers young people to flourish and build the confidence needed to exceed their personal expectations.

Individual Soccer lessons with former professional players. https://www.totalelitesoccertraining.com/ TOTAL ELITE SOCCER TRAINING offers a unique training experience that focuses on individual player development. Every athlete is at a different stage in their development and here at T.E.S.T. we approach each one with that in mind. Upon consulting with the parents and players about their goals, we put together a program that is catered to the player. Progress is actively tracked throughout the program and adjustments are made to the players regimen as needed. We offer a one-on-one training environment because every athlete progresses at a different rate and at T.E.S.T., every athlete matters. ONE-ON-ONE: Training sessions consist of player and coach. Special attention is paid to each athlete with each session being designed specifically for the player.
