Personal Statement
This past year I reached two state championships at both the club and the high school level, which has been the highlight of my career as a soccer player so far. Qualifying for these games was an exciting time, but when I lost both it helped me realize that no matter how much I give, I can always give more. It was a humbling experience that helped me become more mentally tough on the pitch, grow as a person and a player, and drives me even more to be a player that is ready to play as a forward at the college level.
Since middle school I have been a part of not only club soccer, but I have also been a member of band, track, and basketball along the way. These have often conflicted with soccer, but I have learned to balance my schedule with these things along with my academics and eventually I decided it was best that I focus only on soccer and academics going forward. In doing all these activities, I have learned how to value hardwork, dedication, commitment, and teamwork especially in the times coming off of a tough loss. I want what is best for the team, not for myself and I will do whatever I can take make sure the team succeeds. I’m looking for a program that will be a suitable fit for me as a player and an athlete. Being a two year varsity player and a participant in many activities, I know that I have what it takes to be a college soccer player!
