Personal Statement
Since I started playing soccer at four years old, soccer has been my greatest passion. My high school team winning the Eastern Kansas League (EKL) in my junior year of high school was a very important part of my high school soccer career. I feel that competing at that level and advancing to state playoffs made we want to continue to grow and play soccer beyond my high school years. It helped to push me to work harder during my senior year and to reach my goals even if our team did not win EKL two years in a row. This hard work has helped me to become a strong forward capable of playing at the college level.
I am looking for a college with both a strong business school and soccer program. I feel I not only have the talent to play at the college level but the drive, commitment and leadership skills that will make an immediate impact on your program. My hard work at soccer has also come through in my academic endeavors keeping a high GPA while playing soccer year round, working part time and volunteering. Captaining my soccer team showed me that in order to be successful on the soccer field, you must apply the characteristics of a captain -being a role model respect, and dignity off the field in everyday life. Striving to do my best at soccer has helped me get to where I am today and I will use what I have learned playing soccer and apply it to my next challenge, college.
