Matthew Shumaker '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

    My name is Matthew Shumaker. My goals at collegiate level are first and foremost give my very best to help the team win games & do my part individually in making a positive team atmosphere. Outside of soccer, I would like to go into the field of Health and Human Perfromance. Most notably, major in Exercise Science & Kinesiology. My aspirations at the collegiate level are to give it my all so that I can make soccer my profession. My passion for the game I think separates me from other recruits. My competitive drive, not just for Club and High School, but even just playing a pick-up game with my friends. I hate losing a lot. Lastly, I think what also makes me stand out from other recruits is my decision making, on and off the field. To me it's more important than your physical or technical ability, to be able to make good decisions to get the ball up the field without ceasing possession.
