Personal Statement

Hi all,

My name is Brayton Johnson and I am part of the class of 2021 at a college preparatory high school, Trinity High School. Our soccer program is always one of the top in the state and our academics are also top tier. My goals for college is to play soccer at a high level and help contribute to the success of my team through practice and in games.

The determination and passion I have for the sport, in conjunction with, my competitive mindset makes for an extreme amount of motivation towards making the team better in order to achieve the success we all desire. My ability to take information from a coach and apply it to situations makes me a very coach-able player. I have also been playing at the highest level at my high school for two years now making my knowledge of higher level play more substantial.

My sophomore year of high school I was the only sophomore on the varsity squad. I did not get much playing time because I had to compete with two other senior goalies. During practices I would work as hard as I could along with challenging the other goalies to make them better as they made me better, which in turn made our team have three stronger goalies. This shows that I am always working my hardest with the interest of the team in mind. I also show leadership qualities on and off the field. I am a member of the National Honors Society, in which I have to complete at least 5 hours of tutoring and 15 hours of community service. I tend to do my best to help others who may be struggling in the classroom or with a personal problem to the best of my ability. I am also a student ambassador for my high school, which means I am one of the personalities that represent the school to the public. These are experiences that show my leadership qualities. Academically I am in the top of my class scoring in the top 20 people in my class on the PSAT along with being in six AP classes this year as a Junior.
