My biggest passion is soccer, and ultimately I would like to achieve a skill level high enough to play professionally either home or abroad and / or play on the national team . I have been playing soccer since the age of 4 and at the club level for the last 3 years. During that time I have committed myself to soccer and improving my skills each year. I have been able to attend a soccer training, development or showcase camp each of the last 3 summers. Some of my main strengths are my speed on and off the ball, I love chasing down through balls, and dribbling 1v1. Also I am a very good distributor when need be. I know there is still a lot to learn about the game and room to develop my own abilities. I am constantly working on becoming a relentless attacker and finisher. And so I am looking to go to a school that will challenge me to achieve a higher and better level of play.
I also want to go to a school that is strong academically. I currently have a 3.78 GPA and rank 18 of 148 in my class. Going into my junior year I am taking International Baccalaureate (IB) classes in English, Math, Psychology and Spanish. My high school, Sumner Academy of Arts and Science in Kansas City, KS is ranked #1 in my state and is also ranked 64th in the country by US News & World Report. I enjoy school and I consider myself a very good student and enjoy the challenge in the classroom as well as on the field. I am very motivated and responsible off the field and out of the classroom as well. I work part time at the local Addias store and have received consistently high evaluations and received Employee of the Month within my first three months of starting.
I hope to find a fit at a school that is both challenging academically and competitive athletically. A place that will help me to maximize my growth as a person, socially, athletically and academically to be my best. And a school that will give me the opportunity to achieve two of my goals, to have a chance to continue to play soccer at a professional level and to be successful in my degree field after graduation.
