Personal Statement
For the past twelve years, soccer has been more than just an admired hobby. It was a way to forge relationships, compete at a high level, and remain active. Soccer has also played a major role in the lives of all of my siblings. Soccer has given and shown me great determination and a competitive nature that I would have never known I had. My older brother, Ralph, who originally inspired me to play soccer, competed at the highest level of college soccer during his four years at Cornell University, and I was fortunate enough to visit him at campus and experience college life. I witnessed the life-long friendships that were created and the unbelievable commitment of each and every player. I knew I wanted to play college soccer!
I want the same challenges my older brother faced, and I am willing to put forth the effort and time on and off the field in order to prove my value to any team. My determination to pursue excellence for both soccer and academics is unwavering and will not be compromised. I was just selected for the 2017-2018 All-District Soccer Team and also voted the Northshore Men's Soccer Team MVP for the second year in a row. As a Junior, I was just named to the National Honor Society at Northshore High School and have maintained a 4.53/4.6 GPA throughout my high school years.
