Personal Statement
My name is Liam Renehan, and I am interested in pursuing my soccer career in college. I am 5'10" and 140 lbs. I am a junior at Clarksburg High School in Montgomery County, Maryland, and I will graduate in the spring of 2019. I am experienced at all positions on the field, but I excel in the center back position and defensive midfield.
I am a hardworking student, and I like to challenge myself with rigorous classes. I have taken at least one AP class every year of high school, and I am currently taking three AP classes. During my senior year, my plan is to enroll at a community college to start taking college courses while I finish high school. As of right now my cumulative weighted GPA is 3.73.
I have been playing soccer all my life and for many years at advanced levels from NCSL to EDP, including the Bethesda Premier Cup and the Potomac Memorial tournament, which my team and I won in May of 2017. I have been on the varsity team for my high school since my sophomore year, and in my junior year I helped contribute to my team's division title. I play for MRM Rush coached by Matt Arrington who also coaches at Howard University. My team and I play in the EDP Men's U18 2000 2nd Division South.
What I want out of college is a great education that will set a foundation for my future and an opportunity to play soccer at the collegiate level.
