Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when I was four years old. I have played every Fall and Spring season during elementary, middle, and high school. I also play varsity baseball, where I am the starting 3rd basemen and hit .327 as a Junior, but soccer has always been my top passion. I have continued to play both sports at the Varsity level in high school, while also playing travel soccer for Next Level Ajax 01. We are currently ranked 15 in the state of Maryland.
I would like to continue to play soccer at the college level. I work hard to be a leader on my team, and was a captain on my junior varsity team. I am known as a team player, always putting the team first. I also work hard in the classroom, taking all honors and an AP class in high school. My current GPA and academic ranking are listed on my profile page. I have been described by my past coaches as a quiet, strong leader on my team. Coaches have always spoken highly about my ability to be coached and take feedback to improve my skills on the field. I am confident my strong character sets me apart from other players at my level. My actions on and off the field are respectful and positive. I also believe that my intensity and drive make me a better player. I have been told my intensity shows every minute I am on the field, and can easily be seen when watching my highlight videos! I am proud to be a starter on both my high school and club teams.
I hope to continue to have the opportunity to play the sport I love in college. I would like to continue to be a part of a team that is a family, and work with a coach that shares my passion for the game. Soccer is so much a part of who I am, and has taught me so much about physical and mental toughness. I would like to continue as a player at the next level, because I believe I have much to contribute to a college team.
