Personal Statement
My name is Campbell Shepard and I am a rising senior at Glenelg High School in Howard County, Maryland. I am typically a central midfielder but also tend to drift into wider positions such as wing or fullback. I am the player on my team who is very versatile and I can step up to any field position my coach needs me to play. I typically do not play one position throughout the season due to injuries throughout the squad. I play where I will be most beneficial to the team and where my coach and team mates need me. My history as a soccer player begins with me playing centre back for almost 8 years until I was converted into the defensive midfielder role. I played this and attacking midfield for almost three years, before in 2015 I was converted into a forward. This has helped me progress very far as a player and is very beneficial to me and my team. I am the type of the player that does not like failure. If I am told I am not good enough for the team or that I will ride the bench I will put my all into working to get better so I can be on the field and making my difference. I believe I am a very versatile and dangerous player and no matter what College or University I go to I hope to make a difference on and off the field as a player and as a part of the college community.
