Personal Statement
My family's legacy is college graduates. After my 2018 high school graduation, I plan to pursue a college education while playing and enjoying soccer at a collegiate level and fulfilling my family legacy as a 3rd generation college graduate.
I started playing soccer at the age of 5 years old and have enjoyed playing it ever since. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend DC United's youth soccer camp during the summers of 2009 and 2010. My soccer resume includes playing for the following teams:
1. PGMA Youth Soccer
2. Maryland City Mustangs
3. FCI Eagles
4. Bannas Foundation Academy
5. Old Mill High School
6. ODP Maryland
My father is instrumental in providing training outside of regular team practices. Over the years he has helped me with different skills of the game in which I have had difficulty with like increasing stamina, shooting from long distance and building up the weak foot. While playing my beloved sport, I have learned how to communicate, cooperate and bond with teammates, coaches, opponents and have been able to take these abilities and applied them in the classroom.
As a shorter player of 5’4 I am able to make quicker cuts and turns than the average player. Through my training with the Bannas Foundation Academy I learned dribbling techniques that have earned me the nickname of “Messi” for my abilities to dribble quickly and skillfully. It has been said that I have strong body strength to shield the ball. I love to rally and encourage my teammates on and off the field.
As a student, I am taking 3 Honors classes (Science, World History and Math). In addition, I have been an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) student for 3 years. This class helps with time management and organization skills and gives college tour field trips to prepare me for college.
Thank you for taking time to review my profile and learn about me. I look forward and will be grateful for a response from coaches.
