Personal Statement
Perspective coaches, I am an outstanding candidate for your soccer team because I excel in all three areas of character, athletics, and academics. To exemplify my character, I have earned several awards such as the Citizenship Award, numerous teacher and behavior awards. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Boy Scouts of America, and the Youth Group at my local church. each of which I am an active participant in, and often do several community service projects within the state of Maryland with them. In terms of athletics, I am a dual sport athlete for my high school. Although I do play Lacrosse when soccer is not in season, my main focus is soccer, and I play lacrosse merely to stay in shape for soccer season and improve my level of aggression. I have played for the varsity team in both my Freshman and Sophomore Year at Calvert High School, and I have played club soccer for Calvert Soccer Association at the highest level (travel) for about 8 years now, which I have been the starting center defensive midfielder and/or center back. My main priority is academics. As a high school student, I have earned straight A's and maintained above a 4.0 GPA since I began high school. have been ranked second in my class since the beginning of Freshman Year as well, and I have been awarded several academic based awards and recognitions since the start of high school. Academics are something that I take very seriously, and will continue to work at throughout my high school career, and into college. With these attributes, I am confident in my ability to balance athletics and academics for your school and excel at both.
