Personal Statement
My goal is to get the most I can out of college; knowledge, high level soccer, and a degree with great career opportunities are all things I am striving to get out of my college experience. I want to go to college and be successful on and off the field. I feel that having gone to a rigorous college preparatory school since seventh grade gives me an academic edge to help me succeed at any of the best academic institutions. My prep school experience has allowed me not only to be a better student, but has made me into a more well-rounded person. MacDuffie exposure me to other cultures, allowed me to become a better communicator, public speaker and a better leader. I am a leader not only on the field but off it. I have twice been the president of my class which has helped me become a better leader on the teams for which I play.
Recently, I have had more success in soccer starting varsity my sophomore year with the MacDuffie School and winning the Massachusetts State Cup with my club team. However, when I was younger I had trouble getting on better teams because I was quite short. I feel that this obstacle helped me develop a stronger work ethic and motivated me to train more often. This resulted in me becoming a better technical keeper to make up for my disadvantage. This adversity caused me to evolve into a better, harder working player and person as well as helping to prepare me for the college game.
