I learned that I wanted to continue my soccer career by watching the game in its finest form. In the springs of 2014 and 2015, I traveled to Honduras with my church and had the privilege to play with a men's team and many village children. There, I also delivering over 500 donations of used cleats, socks, jerseys, shin guards, and shorts while partnering with One World Football to provide new balls for the children. The way they played changed the way I saw my game, and even the game in general. They played not to be recruited for their local teams or to be the best on their street, they played because that's what they loved to do. I decided that's how I wanted my college experience to be, working my hardest at the thing that makes me happiest. My goal is to play division one or division three soccer at a very challenging and competitive school. One of the things I strive for most is to balance myself between my studies, soccer, and extracurricular activities. To me, working hard while staying grounded in values is most important. Academics is always my highest priority and my goal for my Junior year is to maintain a 4.0 GPA and score a 5 on the AP United States History and AP Literature exam. On the practice pitch, brining intensity and leadership to the team is one of my best abilities. Being an Eagle Scout, attending numerous youth leadership conferences, and voting on my school's student athletic leadership board has allowed me to develop skills to lead on and off the field. Practicing almost every night on my own, practicing with my club three nights a week, weight training two to three times per week, and running indoor track in the winter, I am committed to improving my play everyday. Soccer has taught me dedication, patience, and passion and I look forward to more lessons it teaches me in the future.
