My life consists of soccer and school, and I plan on keeping it that way. My immediate goal is to play at the highest level of collegiate soccer as I can. With my determination, leadership, and advanced soccer ability, I see myself playing at a competitive level in the future. After that, I plan on pursuing a career as either a financial adviser or business owner. Along with that, I hope to play soccer in a league such as the USL or the PDL and coach youth players. I would not mind one bit if I could pursue a minor career as a coach as well.
Often I am told that I am a very intelligent soccer player. Therefore, I am looking at the possibility of becoming a soccer coach as a secondary career, and if it becomes serious enough, a primary career. I feel that I have good leadership and a great soccer IQ, which are some traits that I need, to make being a soccer coach a promising career for myself. I have been the captain of my team for 8 years, and have heard from multiple coaches including my US Soccer Academy coach, that my leadership qualities are very promising and very good for my future teammates.
My 2014 US Soccer Academy Coach, Anthony Deacon, who is also the Director of Coaching for Coerver Michigan (a division of the Global Coerver), says I am an outstanding leader who with my intelligence on the field and ability to adapt during games and lead by example is something that makes me special. I would say I am a very technical player with no fear, great leadership, and passion for the game of soccer. Off the field I would say I am a very hardworking and intelligent student who many would consider and over achiever, considering I am in all advanced classes and still maintaining a 3.203 GPA which is actually higher when weighted with AP classes. Many kids say they live for the game, and yes, they may really enjoy it, but they don't live for it. There are other things they would rather do than go to soccer practice, or kick the ball in their backyard. I on the other hand, do live for the game. There is nothing I would rather do. I would rather be at the field shooting, running, juggling, passing the ball with a teammate over anything else. If I'm not on the field, with a ball at my feet, I'm lost. It's a part of my life and that, I believe, is what makes me different. That, I believe, is what makes me a good candidate for college soccer.
