I've played soccer for 13 years. I mainly play sweeper and help my team win most of their games in shutouts (11/17 games 2012; 10/16 games in 2013). When given the opportunity to play midfield or forward for a few minutes, I consistently earn goals (2012 - 3 opportunities: 3 goals, 1 assist; 2013 4 opportunities, 3 goals). My soccer skills include a <6 minute mile, 10 yard reaction burst speed of 1.96 seconds, excellent field view, great judgment and angle anticipation, and superior footwork skills.
I'm proud of the "border" I've helped develop with my defensive team, which keeps our energy level up during intense competition and keeps goals shut-out. And while I'm also very proud of my individual honors (all-conference, all-tournament, and 2nd all-area dream team), I'm most proud that my soccer teammates voted me MVP in 2012 as a sophomore. In addition, I am the kicker for our varsity football team and earned all-conference honorable mention, and was voted MVP by the football team my sophomore year, as well. I fully understand and take a leadership role in developing team unity.
My commitment to athleticism is proven by my varsity level competition as a freshman for baseball, as a dual-sport sophomore for football/soccer, and promoted for districts for basketball. I participate in year-round athletic trainings and camps to further develop my skills.
My dedication off the field can be seen by my earning 3.42 gpa, being a section leader for Marching Band, National Honor Society member, being recommended by teachers to be a member of our Link Crew (student welcoming committee), and volunteering to help our local little league.
I am searching for the 'right' college for me: one that has an engineering program, a good student life base, and an opportunity to play competitive soccer. I look forward to the journey of finding the best match, am excited about collegiate level challenges and opportunities, and hope to be a part of a team with a great record, character, and pride.
