Zachery Bonzheim '16 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'7 center defender from Manistee, Michigan. I have been playing club soccer since I was 10 and started varsity as a freshman in 2012. I have won varsity awards and I have always been a team leader. I have great effort and want to play all the time. I played three games with a broken wrist during my varsity year and received our highly honored "Coaches Award", equivalent to an MVP. I also play basketball as small-forward for my JV team. I have played baseball, track, cross country, tennis, and was offered to play varsity football as kicker.

Ideally, I would like to go to a university which can offer me the best opportunities to further my game. I like larger schools but a small or mid-size school is fine as long as they are near a larger city. I'm interested in schools in the southwest (Arizona, California, and Texas), southeast (Florida and North Carolina), and great-lakes states (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois). I am fine with going to a large school and contributing a lesser amount as a freshman and sophomore, but I want to be a key player when I'm nearing the end of my colligate career. Receiving an athletics scholarship is crucial for me to attend a university.

After college I want to either further my soccer career or continue going to college. In soccer I’m interested in coaching, commentating, analyzing, or playing. My other choice is to finish studying and become a successful lawyer.
