Personal Statement
I am 6'2" tall and weigh 185lbs. I am strong, quick, have great technique and speed. My coaches say my best quality is my vision of the field and being coachable. I can see scoring opportunities most can not and I make decisions quickly. I have played mostly center midfield, but can also play center back.
I started playing travel soccer at age 6 for Waza FC East and still play for them. Waza FC has been a great place for me to train and learn the game with top-ranked coaches and prior professional players. I've always grown and learned from Waza and always felt I was being challenged to be a better player.
I have been a starter on Varsity for my high school since my freshman year. I was Captain as a Junior and a Senior. Last season, I was awarded all-conference and all-league. This year as a Senior my team nominated me MVP. I also won all-conference and all-league. My high school team plays in the Oakland Athletic Association Red which is the most competitive league in Michigan.
I am a strong student. I have won departmental awards in Language Arts, Physical Education, Biology, Algebra 2, Spanish and U.S. History. I have been on the honor roll my entire schooling. I am a member of the National Honor's Society. I was selected by our school's athletic director, Luke Beach, to serve on the Michigan High School Athletic's Student Advisory Council. I am also a writer for my school's newspaper which is rated #1 high school newspaper in the nation.
In addition to playing soccer, I am the varsity football kicker for my high school. My longest kick so far is 55 yards. I am also very active in my church's youth group.
My dream is to play soccer for a university that challenges me academically and athletically. I realize juggling a collegiate sport and college classes will be challenging, but strongly feel I am well prepared.
Soccer is my passion; I can not imagine my life without soccer. I feel I have the size, motivation, and talent to play college soccer and be an asset to my team.
