Derek "Will" Oglesby '23 Recruiting Profile

Coach, 

I am a sophomore attending Bloomfield Hills High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  Soccer is my passion.  I am a starting forward for the U16 Vardar MLS Next Academy.  My position is winger and striker. 

I've always believed in setting high goals for myself.  Academically, I have met my personal goal to achieve high academic honors, and recently joined the National Honor Society at my high school.  I aspire to continue to improve my academic performance and demonstrate my leadership ability throughout my high school career. Athletically, I set a goal this year to increase my speed, agility and technical skills. By working hard and training nearly every single day, either on my own, at school, or with my club, I have met this goal as well. On and off the field, I continue to reach higher and farther to consistently refine my game to become a better player. I am coachable yet hungry to win.  

After graduation in 2023, my long-term goal is to play soccer for a D1 university on an academic and athletic scholarship, and one day, get drafted into the MLS.  I am considering studying engineering and/or science in college. I hope you will give me an opportunity to show you that my skill set, positive mindset and coachable attitude would be an advantage to your team.
