I have been playing goalkeeper for a long time and it is definitely my passion. As a young player, I never wanted to leave the box, and still don’t. Fortunately, my club coach saw the value of developing my field playing skills. Playing club ball up to my high school years was split between field play and the goal box. Once I reached high school, I have been starting varsity goalkeeper both my sophomore and junior years. With my field playing ability, our team has been able to use me as an eleventh field player swinging the ball through me or providing an opportunity to start the build.
When people first meet me, they are not intimidated by my stature. Most people would rather see the big guy in the box. But what I don’t have in stature, I make up for with great technical play and ability to get to the ball and make the stop. I am routinely complemented on my field of vision, leadership and knowledge of the game.
The hard work that I have put in to develop myself into the player I am today, I also put into the classroom. I am near the top of my class with 4.0 GPA. My college aspiration is to find the best institution to be a successful a college competitor and pursue a medical degree.
