Personal Statement
After the 2014 Men’s World Cup, I decided that even though I had never touched a soccer ball in my life, I wanted to be a soccer star like the players I had been watching on television. I knew I had started way behind the curve, as most players had been playing for most of their lives; while I was just about to start my first year of competitive soccer in 7th grade.
I’ve always worked harder and smarter than everyone else, in order to close that gap. I am never complacent, always pushing and improving every day. I went from a complete novice to making the Olympic Development State Team in just two years of playing soccer. In my Freshman year of High School I scored the game winning goal to win our JV Championship. My Sophomore year, I scored the only goal that took my club team to third place in state. And this year, I hope to have my best year yet!
I’m constantly practicing my craft, and whenever I’m not practicing, I’m at the gym trying to build my body into a soccer machine. I look forward to continuing to hone my soccer skills and to contribute to your college team with my work ethic and leadership.
