Personal Statement
Since I was a young kid, my parents tried hard to make me a well-rounded kid by putting me in multiple sports and activities. As I've grown up, I've dwindled down the amount of sports I play to just soccer and track, but still try to stay as well-rounded as possible. On top of my studies, I play soccer for Edina High School and club for PSA, I run track for the high school in the spring, I ref soccer and caddy at Interlachen Country Club during the summer, I sing and play the trumpet as well as the piano, and I am in both the concert choir and chamber choir at my high school. I think this diversity in activities on top of my studies prepares me extremely well by teaching me how to use my time wisely before I face the problem of juggling hours of homework and soccer each night in college. I think I would make a great candidate for a college soccer team because of both soccer skill and my love for the sport. I have a good touch, I love to take the ball inside or take the line, I play fast, run fast, and attack hard. From my experience of being a captain for my high school team, I've learned how to bring camaraderie to a team, lead on and off the field, and how to stay serious while being a supportive teammate. My first and foremost collegiate goal is to get a great education in the field of engineering, but soccer has always been my number one passion so I've always known that I would play at a collegiate level. Since middle school, the Edina Public Schools offered me high intensity engineering, math, and science programs that pinpointed my interest in engineering to that of civil engineering. I would love to find a school with a great engineering program who can set me up well for my future, while creating great memories on the soccer field with a collegiate team.
