Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I love to play, watch, and talk about soccer. I am committed to prepare and to play at the college level. I have played in and won numerous state tournaments for high school and club, traveled around the country to compete against some of the best teams and players, and have gone to college ID events so that coaches can evaluate my abilities.
Coaches have complimented my “soccer IQ” and work ethic. I feel that my soccer IQ is a critical part of my game and differentiates me competitively. I don’t expect anything for free and I’m always looking to improve. I want to continue to contribute to my team's success through hard work and competitiveness. Over the past couple of years, I have played a key role as a reliable defender, a contributor to a very high-scoring offense, and a set-piece specialist. I tried to show all of this in my latest highlight reels included in my profile.
I just finished the first semester of my junior year in all honors & AP courses, and I now have a 3.93 cumulative high school GPA and a 34 ACT. I focus on my homework every day and keep working at it until I am delivering my best. At the same time, I am very involved in many aspects of my school. Besides varsity sports, I have been a member of a men’s a capella choir, a member of the Blake lacrosse team, an award-winning member of Blake's Model UN program, an elected member of student government, a volunteer student tutor, and an admissions ambassador.
I've learned through my high school experience that contributing to all facets of an academic experience is important to me, and I hope to continue that in college.
