Personal Statement
Soccer started for me when I was 4. My father wanted a sport to get my body in shape and prepare me for football in the next few years. However, football did not catch my interest, and I instead fell in love with soccer. Soccer became my escape from school and from life, and gave me a reason to look forward to every day. This passion and love for the game has not died out in the now 11 years I have been playing, and I believe it will continue through my high school and college career.
As a student athlete, my main goal for the future is to play competitive soccer and or track in college, while ultimately receiving a bachelors and possibly masters degree in material or civil engineering. I hope to apply this knowledge I gain to the advancement of engineering and society, and be able to use it throughout my life. As a current honors and future AP student, I believe my dedication and work ethic will benefit my school, both in the classroom and on the field. Through my soccer career, I have developed strong habits and a positive mindset towards both the game, and all it has to offer. I have always accepted challenges, and been willing to go above and beyond what is required of me in order to advance myself, both athletically and academically. I strive to be a leader both on and off the field, and to push both myself and my team around me to the best of our abilities.
