Personal Statement
My name is Johnathan Steven Andrew Oliver. I'm a 5'11, 145 lbs goalkeeper. I have started on the varsity team for the past three years. My graduation year is 2017. I would hope to have a great impact on my college team early in my career. I have earned 1st team GAC all-conference and 1st team all-district selection and was also voted MVP by my team and coaches this 2015 season. I also play baseball and run cross country.
I never saw myself being where I am now in life.
I've decided to pursue an education in History Education. with a minor in Physical Education I've always believed that if I couldn't play in the sport I love, I might as well be a part of the athletic atmosphere. I think being a teacher and a coach will be the right fit for me.
I just need to find the right college. I'm open to any college across the nation, although I feel that a D2 school would probably be a good fit for me. Financial aid is also a factor in college selection. I would prefer to attend a college that would allow me to play soccer and baseball while attending.
I have yet to claim a captain's band on my team but I am an unofficial captain on the field and my teammates respect me as I respect them. A team is a brotherhood that should be honored, cherished and respected. You may never find it again.
My team and I are always hanging out or doing something, just because we like being around each other. A team is the most important thing to me. Personal awards are great but my team is always my #1 priority in sports but my academics will always come first.
