Personal Statement
My name is Jacob Thomas Rahiman and I’m a Junior at Passaic Valley High School in Little Falls, NJ. I’ve been raised in a Haitian / Filipino household and that has taught me that the world is a big place with many different cultures. Also, we need to give back as much as possible to the less fortunate so every year with my mom, we have started a toys for tots charity drive for a neighborhood clinic in Paterson, NJ. I am also focused on issues relating to poverty in my mom’s native Haiti and hope to make a difference there.
I’m passionate about soccer and have played in club team since I was young. Currently I’m a Midfielder on the U-17 team at NJ Stallions Academy and will be on the Varsity for my local high school this fall. Our academy team has been playing in college showcases in NJ, PA, MD and this summer in Paris. I hope to see you at one of them someday soon.
I have a 3.2 GPA and will be taking AP History next year and working on getting good scores in the PSAT and SAT. My goal is for a career in Sports Management with a dream of becoming a Sports/ Technical Director for a Premier League club.
I look forward to the college recruiting process and please feel free to contact me at any time - thanks.
