I love the game of soccer. From the time I could walk, I had a soccer ball at my feet. I started playing at age four and I have never stopped. I play both club and high school soccer. I play year round. During the winter, I play in futsol and indoor leagues and during the summer I attend camps, play in tournaments and play beach soccer. When I am not playing, I am watching soccer on television or Youtube, or I am outside running and working on my footwork and building my muscle memory.
I am currently in my Senior year of high school.
During my senior season, I was elected as a team captain. I finished the season with 20 goals and 11 assists in 19 games. Additionally, I recorded two more hat tricks this season. I was a starter for every game, all of them at outside forward. I finished my high school career with a total of 42 goals, which placed me in the top five of my school's all-time scoring list. My season total of 20, also placed me in the top five for goals in a season. I was nominated as one of the top forwards in the Tri-County Conference by NJ.com. I was named first team All-Conference and chosen to play in the Tri-County Conference All-Star Game. I was also named first team All-Area and named to the New Jersey All-State Team.
During my junior season I scored 8 goals and and chipped in 3 assists. I was a starter at striker, but also played at outside forward. During a home game against Salem, I scored 4 consecutive goals during a 6-0 win. Each of my goals were scored a different way, and I was nominated for Performance of the Week honors. I was named to 2nd Team All-Conference.
During my sophomore season, I was a starter for every game for my team. I was mostly positioned at striker and occasionally at outside forward. I scored 9 goals, which was good for second on my team. I also added 1 assist. During a game against Gloucester City, I recorded my first hat trick of my high school career. I also had a two-goal game against Salem.
During my freshman year of high school, I was the only freshman to make the varsity team out of camp. During my inaugural season I played many different offensive positions and scored five goals, including the only goal scored on senior night. I mainly played outside forward, but when I was asked to play striker or center attacking midfield, I was up to the task.
I have played for the same club team for the past eight years. I am a dedicated and unselfish player. I believe that an assist is just as important as a goal. I was told that I am the type of player that would run through a wall for my coach.
I also run for my high school winter and spring track teams. So far, I have earned nine varsity letters in three sports (soccer, winter and spring track), and I am on pace to earn twelve varsity letters during my high school career. I am told that this is a feat that is very hard to earn. During this past Winter Track season, I was able to break my school's record for the 400m twice and qualify for States. I also won the 2016 Winter Track Coach's Award.
When I am not playing soccer, I am involved in other clubs and activities. I am a Royal Ranger and have earned the Gold Medal of Achievement. Its the highest honor a Royal Ranger can achieve and is the equivalent to Eagle Scout. I have also graduated from the New Jersey Royal Ranger Advancement Academy, having earned my saber. I have also earned the Gold Eagle award, the Bronze Medal and the Silver Medal. I also volunteer my time with Sure House Ministry, where we feed and clothe the homeless in Philadelphia. I am also an active member in Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Outdoor Club at my school. In 2015, I went on my first out-of-country missions trip to Belize and look forward to many more missions trips in the future.
I am looking forward to playing soccer in college. I prefer to attend a four year college and the size of the school doesn't matter to me. I have interest in Sports Medicine, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Science and Engineering. A long term goal for me is to join the Saints Prison Ministry soccer team and to also go on global mission trips and teach kids to play soccer.
