Etienne Groom '23 Recruiting Profile

Soccer/Football has been part of my life ever since the 2010 World Cup after watching Brazil's Maicon score a goal from an almost impossible angle and showing the passion this sport creates by seeing him fall to his knees in tears.

I was born in Brazil and lived in Sao Paulo for 12 years. During my time in Brazil, I joined Santos FC academy.  I now play for Scotch Plains Fanwood High School (ranked 12th in the state) and for Players Development Academy 05 ECNL.  In the last year I have been named for many accolades such as being in "NJ.com"'s top 10 Juniors of the year, I was also named in the North II Group IV team of the season and lastly was named as one of the top 50 'under the radar' players.  I was the leader in assists on my High School team ad had the most goals with my club team.  With international experience under my belt, I feel as though it has helped me adapt and excel in the United States.

Academically, I have 3 STAMP certificates confirming my fluency in French, Portuguese and Italian. I also took 3 APs last year and I will take 5 APs this coming year.
