Derek Bilyeu '23 Recruiting Profile

I started playing soccer at the age of 4. I have been playing club soccer with the Westchester Flames for the past 6 years. I am currently on the Westchester Flames 2004 Elite team. I have been captain of this team for the past 4 years. I play both right back and right wing for my team. I am comfortable attacking in tight spaces and pride myself on my man-on-man defense. We have attended the North American Finals for the Super Y League three years in a row. It was at the finals back in December of 2019, that I was chosen by USL scouts to represent the league as one of 72 players nation wide to participate in the USL experience in Alabama Spring of 2020.

As a freshman in the Fall of 2019, I made my high school varsity soccer team. I play for Beacon High School in New York. As a freshman, I started at right back, right wing and striker at times. I was second on the team with goals scored my freshman year as my varsity team won the conference. I was named All League for my achievements in the Fall of 2019.  

As a sophomore starter on the Beacon Varsity Soccer team in Fall of 2020,  I have been moved to right wing for the majority of my touches.  I was named All League for my achievements for a second year in a row in the Fall of 2020.

I will be playing on the Westchester Flames 04 Elite team as well as the club USL A team in 2021.

Update (7/23/21):  I have transferred to Bronxville High School for the 2021-22 school year.  I look forward to playing on a new high school team and to continue playing for the Westchester Flames 04 Elite.

My current GPA is 94. I am interested, at this time, in majoring in Business in College. It is my hope to play collegiate soccer at either the D1 or D2 level.
