Jake Rowe '18 Recruiting Profile

I began playing soccer when my parents signed me up for the local town league in 2004. Over the years I’ve learned about myself, gained self-esteem and confidence by being a part of a team. I am very proud of who I am and how far I have come up to this point in my life. Ever since I was in middle school I’ve always looked up to the older players in College and have dreamed of playing on a team like that. Coming into High School I was very excited to try out for the team but I was also nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. Unfortunately, I was let go on the third day of tryouts. This brought my confidence down very much but with the support from my coaches, family and friends I pushed myself and learned from the mistakes I made. I came back the next year and made the team, not only as a starter but also as a captain. The extra practice & determination formed me into the player that I am today. On the field I am a leader, aggressive and intense. I accept nothing short of 100% from myself and expect the same from my teammates.

I would love to graduate High School with a 4.0 GPA and ultimately graduate College with my degree in Dentistry. I know these may be lofty goals, but through hard work, patience and more hard work anything is achievable. Success is never attained without help, however. There are many people and things that have helped me achieve my goals: my parents, coaches, and my Catholic faith. Without these specific things in my life I don’t think I would be the person that I am now.
