Personal Statement
Soccer has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Since I was ten years old, I knew it would be a very large part of my life as I went on. On the field, I have learned how to communicate for the good of my team. I learned that, as a center back, I have to be vocal and direct my teammates. Soccer has also brought me a sense of leadership, that has helped me excel on and off the field. Every game is a challenge that I have to accomplish. I also think of school as similar challenge to games. Each assignment and presentation for school is a challenge that I also must accomplish. I have witnessed how practice has made me a better soccer player, and I apply that same mentality to my school work. I have also learned a great deal from my failures on the field. They have taught me resiliency, and that picking up my head and encouraging my teammates, having good sportsmanship and integrity is as important as winning.
