Personal Statement
I have dreamed of playing soccer at the collegiate level ever since I could remember. Playing college soccer could help me throughout college by keeping me focused, helping me to meet new people, keeping my schooling organized, and helping me enjoy my time throughout my college career. Soccer is my passion and I dream to play at the college level. I have been working harder than ever throughout high school to try to excel in my soccer career. In 9th grade I had worked very hard. The Head Varsity coach gave me the option to play Junior Varsity or sit on the bench as a member of the Varsity Team. I went to practice every day and showed the coach how hard I work. Soon after the practices started I began to play in the Varsity games. I ended up starting that first game of my freshman year with little time out and has ben the same ever since. Ever since, I have been starting and playing most, if not all, of the game for my high school’s Varsity Soccer Team. I love the game and it keeps me focused and keeps my head straight. This year my hard work paid off as I was a recipient of the Triangle Award from my local club. The Triangle consists of the three parts of a successful club; a coach, a parent and a player. I was honored as the Player of the Year.
Soccer also helps me with meeting new friends and creating bonds with the people around me. Along with having fun, staying active and healthy, playing soccer has enabled me to become great friends with my team and to trust my coaches. I have grown up with my club soccer team since I was little and have been great friends with my teammates, playing soccer and having fun with them. I have created great bonds with my friends from both my club and school soccer teams. I am able to go to them with problems I may have and just talk to them about anything.
I aspire to become an actuary t after college and eventually be my own boss. I trust that my ability to play a sport in school will help me manage my time, thereby enabling me to study and succeed. My high school grades have not always been the best as I have not always been interested in my courses, nor did I always work to the best of my ability. I am determined to change that as I truly want to become an actuary and I know that I must work to my fullest potential to achieve this goal. I expect to use my college experience as a springboard to life; my teammates will become contacts and we will lean to each other for encouragement and support. I look forward to playing soccer in college to help me meet new people, create great bonds with those whom will be with me throughout my college career, and make school more enjoyable and successful.
