My name is Jonathan Mendez. I aspire to attend a higher education institution where I can excel both academically and athletically. I am an individual that puts others first, striving to lead by example both on and off the field. I believe that I would represent my school with pride, and I guarantee that my strong work ethic would be a healthy contribution to the team. In college, I would like to pursue a major that deals with Business. I play the violin and have done so for 12 years. Currently, I am a member of the Chamber Music Orchestra. I enjoy making people happy through the power of music. Additionally, I am a member of my school's Speech, Student Congress, and Debate Team. I am in my third year of public forum debate and I find it to be something that has changed me. Through debating, my speaking skills and my writing skills have greatly improved. Soccer, music, and debating have the common thread that they are different forms of art. I believe that I can combine the different skills learned from these activities and use them in positive ways in college and beyond.
