Academic: I have always been fascinated with the English language. When I was little and living in Senegal, I was dreaming of speaking and understanding the language. However, what I thought was easy was rather difficult. Throughout my time in high school I realized that learning a new language was a challenge. I struggled with most of my classes because of the English language. However, this did not stop me from improving my English, the language I fell in love with while young. I improved my English in the classroom by staying on task and asking question when ever I do not understand a word or mainly the aim. In addition, I improved my English beyond the classroom as well in order to attain fluency level by participating in different community services and have a job because in these cases, I was forced to speak the Language in order to assist others. At the end of my junior year I believe that my greatest strength lies in my ability to communicate vocally and through my writing skills. This experience taught me that perseverance is a great skill to have. I develop this skill with my learning of the English language and I know that once I enter college this skill will assist me tremendously to not give up and try and achieve the best if my classes or new environment are challenging.

Athletic: I would be a good candidate for your team because I am an outside midfielder and a forward who is skillful, courageous, and aggressive. Although I am not the captain in both my varsity and club team, I like acting like one because I believe that influencing your teammate will not only help you become a better individual, but it helps your teammate trust one another and that would build a strong team chemistry. I like winning and it takes hard work to do that and great enthusiasm for a team to become successful. I believe that I could truly bring that to your team.
