Rees Jones '18 Recruiting Profile

Hi coach, my name is Rees Jones and I am from Aurora, Ohio. I am a member of the class of 2018 and I play for the Internationals Soccer Academy Team. My primary position is outside back, however I also often play a defending midfield role and right midfield. My greatest strengths on the field include my speed, both on the ball and without it, the ability to see the whole field and pick out the right pass, attacking from the outside position, and my aggressiveness. My coaches have repeatedly placed me leadership roles such as co-captain as I have additional strengths in communication on the field.

A few of my soccer achievements include participating in a US Soccer PDP camp, which resulted in an invitation to a national id2 camp. Also, I was on the Super Y regional championship team for 2 years and the Super Y national championship team 1 year. I’m most proud of the fact that in my four years as an International Academy player, I have started and played almost every minute of every game. This tells me I have the confidence of my coaches and I’m seen as a leader on the field. I’m ranked by Top Drawer Soccer in their top 150 players to watch as well as a top ranked defender and I’m ranked 6^th in the Great Lakes Region.

As a student athlete, my collegiate goals and aspirations include studying architecture, industrial design, or broadcast journalism, while playing soccer in a competitive program. My hope is to be able to grow as a soccer player and as a person, and to be able to contribute to my team’s success as a hard-working, dedicated team player. Academically, my main goal is to start a career with the proper education necessary.
