My name is Lance Brown and I'm from Dayton, OH. I am graduating in 2015 and I am a four sport scholar athlete at Walter E Stebbins HS. This past fall I was the kicker for our varsity football team, varsity starter and captain of my soccer team. I recently received the Scholar Athlete award (all four years); named first team All Conference, selected for second team All Area, and named MVP of my soccer team. I was also selected for our all area allstar game at the end of the season. I have begun training with the Ohio Galaxies U17 Elite team and will be playing in the OSSL and top division of the MRL league. We will be participating in showcase tournaments, including the Disney Showcase in Florida, the CASL showcase tournament in NC, and the Jefferson Cup showcase tournament in VA. Our team is elite and will be competing in the U17 Elite Black Division in the CASL tournament (other placements not assigned yet). In the winter I will be a varsity starter on the mens bowling team and in the spring, I will be playing varsity first team singles in tennis. In soccer, my primary position is forward. Another position I often play is center back. My greatest strengths: Ability to communicate strategies on the field; quick decision making; and leadership. Soccer and sports in general, is my passion. I began playing soccer when I was 5 and have played every year since then. The most memorable experience was learning to play in England during my elementary school years. When we moved back to the states to Ohio, I began to play more competitively with club teams. I also made the ODP state team 3 years in a row. In high school, I have been a varsity starter, all conference first team, and all area second and third teams all four years. I have earned our MVP award the last two seasons.
My collegiate goals are to get a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and continue on to get a master's degree with a minor in Electrical Engineering. I also want to play soccer on the men's varsity team or kick for the football team. I am hard working, dedicated, loyal, and willing to put the team before me. I'm different because I don't like to disappoint myself or others and will work hard in everything I do.
