Charlie Isphording '24 Recruiting Profile

I am an All American Center/Outside back (1 of 12 nationwide) that recently decommited from the Big East champion team, Xavier so that I can pursue the best academic and soccer fit.  As a top academic Senior at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, OH, I chose to decommit from an ideal D1 soccer program with outstanding coaches because I am interested in attending a high academic university with a great soccer program outside of my hometown. I have restarted my academic/soccer university and soccer program selection process and am looking forward to finding the best fit of my soccer skills and academic abilities.
I have played competitive club soccer for 10+ years, and have received the highest accolades, including having been named to the Best XI squad in 2021 as a key contributor to my Kings Hammer's USYS National Championship. I have played with Kings Hammer, Kings Hammer USL U19, on my high school varsity team, and most recently joined Ohio Elite for my final year of club soccer to get experience with another versatile and talented club team. I have experience playing in a traditional 4-3-3 and 3-5-2, and have the ability to play with many formations and coaching styles.

I have been the captain of my high school soccer team as a Junior and Senior, and have been recognized with the highest accolades listed below.

• As a highly competitive student athlete, I strive to excel in all of my interests. I have been a key and starting player in all sports I've pursued in addition to soccer, including high school basketball and club baseball. I am a straight A student (4.54 with APs as of year-end Senior fall), have and will continue to complete college courses outside of my high school curriculum, and carry a heavy course load at my school with several AP courses. I have a 34 ACT super score. 

I am a hard working and a natural leader and strive to improve the environment and comradery on my athletic teams, classrooms, and community.  I hope to find the best fit with a high academic university and a competitive soccer program that enable me to contribute my intellectual and athletic abilities to the team and school I attend. 
Given the examples of my sister who is a national champion and playing soccer at Johns Hopkins as a three time All American, my father who was a D1 soccer goal keeper at Miami University and my mother who ran track at Georgetown University, I am looking forward to continuing my family legacy of attending and playing soccer at a high academic institution.
