I have been playing soccer since the age of 4. I have always loved it and it has become the most important part of my identity. My parents were always glad to know that I wanted to play year after year, because they knew how much I needed to play and be a part of this amazing sport. I have played many other sports, but none have ever inspired me in the same way soccer has. Soccer has always been my choice and continues to be the singular thing I prefer to spend my time doing; playing it, practicing it, watching it, learning it, and talking about it. I have gotten so much satisfaction and happiness from the game of soccer, I can't imagine who I would be without it.
Soccer has helped me become a better person on and off the pitch. I have gained many friendships and learned to win, lose, and that to be successful at anything, you have to be willing to work harder than then next person. My parents have been extremely supportive in every part of my soccer experience and they have taught me that success is no accident. It takes practice and more practice. Their support has helped me as I have had to work through the hardship of injuries to my body and blows to my ego that go hand in hand with competition. I have learned to embrace challenges, because I always end up in a better place.
I am currently a student athlete in an academically and athletically challenging high school with a high level soccer program. I am proud to be a part of it and I hope to contribute in a meaningful way to my school's ongoing success. I am also playing competitive club soccer against good teams. I have had to balance and manage a great deal of scholastic and athletic time to do this successfully.
After high school, my goal is to play Division I collegiate soccer at a high level and all that this entails. I am a hardworking person and I actively put in a significant amount of extra time into my game, well beyond team practices. I can see the improvement in my game as a result and it fuels me to work even harder. I thrive on the challenges this game gives me. I feel that soccer and all it has given me is converging right now and I am excited for it. I am confident that I can be a relevant player at the collegiate level, contributing both on and off the field. I am certainly eager to do the work necessary to be that person.
