My name is Joe Thompson and I am a 16 year old Junior who attends Canby High School. As captain of my soccer team I have become a strong leader and role model on and off the field. On the field some of my greatest attributes are my decision making skills, my passing and my ball control. I always find a way to keep myself highly motivated. I come from a family that knows how to compete and work hard, as my dad went to the Olympics and my brother attends the U.S. Air force Academy. I strive to work the hardest every time I step on the pitch. Carrying myself with a professional attitude is very important to me because of my respect and passion for the game.
The obvious reason that I want to play soccer in college is because of my love for the game. I would simply miss playing competitive soccer. I would also miss the idea of competing and working to better myself as a player everyday. I also love the idea of representing my school and team for four years. Along with soccer my education is also very important to me. My soccer and education will help me strongly contribute to society in the future as well as help me achieve my goals in life. I am extremely excited to be an instrumental part of a competitive program.
