Hello,
My name is Kobi Galvis, and I am a dedicated soccer player. I am 16 years old, 5 feet 11 inches, and 155 pounds. I am in the 11th grade at the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This college preparatory school is the oldest Quaker school in the world. I currently have a 3.57 GPA at my academically vigorous school. I am interested in business, marketing, and sports, so I would like to major in something involving all three. I am Colombian-American, and my parents are hard working immigrants that have sacrificed greatly for my benefit. My goal is to make everyone proud and receive a great education while playing college soccer.
I’ve played for various clubs throughout the years, such as Fox Chase S.C., Danubia S.C., Feltonville S.C., UJSL Select, Philadelphia S.C., Parkwood S.C., the EPYSA ODP 98’s, and my high school team. I currently play for Yardley Makefield Soccer (YMS) Elite '97 Dynamo. My EPYSA ODP 98's team was the Region 1 finalist in 2013. I also went to England with the ODP 97’s, and competed against various English professional team’s academies. I have experience at a high level of play, and will bring my talents to the college level. I have played soccer since I was 3 years old, and want to continue my passion for soccer at the next level.
I am a versatile player who is utilized in many positions, as the game changes. I play outside defense, outside mid, and forward. I play center back every once in a while, when the opposing team’s main strength comes down the middle of the field. When I play outside back I like to get up and support the attack, but I will still hustle all the way back to play defense. My tendency for outside midfield is to work combinations up the pitch, while returning to slow down the other team’s attack. As a forward, I play my best when I am played balls into space where I can outrun my defender in a chase towards goal. In all the positions, I consider myself a good threat towards goal when receiving a good cross. I am a leader and motivator on the field who loves to win. My main position is outside defense, but I will play the position that best helps the team win. I would like to attend a school where I could share my passion for soccer with equally enthusiastic student athletes, while receiving a great education.
