Personal Statement
I have played multiple sports all year round my entire life and my passion has remained with soccer. To train and compete at the highest level, while maintaining my grades in school, I have had to set short term and long term goals for myself. Each accomplishment and the results that I see continue to motivate me to be unrelenting towards all of my goals. My persistent dedication toward all that I do has opened the doors for opportunities that have allowed me to travel overseas to play the sport that I love, and yet it has also allowed me to grow and learn how to handle difficult situations when doors close. These experiences, as a student athlete, have taught me that hard work and dedication does pays off if you stay focused and keep striving for more. My decision to attend College has always been one of my most important long term goals. I simply want to be an intelligent and employable young man. While working full time and making money as soon as I graduate high school may seem like the important thing to do, I have instead decided that the knowledge and wage potential college will afford me has made my decision worth it. I am thankful for the foundation that my family, teachers, and coaches helped me to achieve while preparing me for the challenges I will face at the collegiate level. What I hope to gain from my time in college is a wide range of knowledge in different subject areas while having the opportunity to enhance and broaden my experiences in life. I also believe that attending college will provide me with an opportunity to complete challenging work in a competitive environment which will improve my higher level thinking skills. This, in turn, will prepare me for the transition into the work force as well.
