Personal Statement
I am highly motivated and passionate about soccer, academics, family and friends. I believe my parents would say I am very caring of others and probably mature beyond my years, and I have high standards for everything that I do. I take care of my body by exercising and eating well, and have been evaluated by a personal trainer when I was 14 as being top in speed, jumping ability and endurance as compared to 17-18 year old athletes. While I would love to say that my ultimate goal is to play professionally at some point in my career, I fully understand and embrace the need to secure an excellent education first and foremost. I have participated in after school and other activities, and I anticipate extending myself and participating in other activities to be considered for the National Honor Society. I am an excellent teammate and have evolved my game over the years to focus on team goals/objectives. My last premier club Coach played me in many positions to help the team, and while my preference was to settle on a few positions, I fully understood and accepted this challenge and put my personal goals second to the team being first. To quote my coach in a recent communication to my father, Coach Tim Foster (Montgomery United Cobras) wrote: "I have been always impressed with Josh and his versatility and willingness to play virtually every position on the field. He is an elite athlete with gifted soccer ability and he reads the game very well which allows me to play him with confidence in any spot. I do feel his best spot has been center mid, although he is a very dangerous scoring threat and play maker when played as a forward and he is so smart as a defender when he attacks out of the back and ever so dependable as a player who never gets beat. Being successful in various spots and understanding how to play different positions makes him a very valuable player for any coach. His quickness and foot speed continue to amaze me and he is always the most fit player on the field in any game we have played."
