My name is Stephan Riquelme I graduate in 2016 from Saint John's School I now play both high school and club soccer in Puerto Rico.
I have a 3.0 grade point average and want a shot at competing at the college level. I have attended camps and teams around the world: soccer camp in Spain, a Mexican youth league in Cancun.
Handling a tough schedule is part of my life and helps me manage my time successfully. I am involved in two soccer teams, both school and club, and also play futsal, basketball, and golf. I also keep on top of my academic schedule. . Both at my school and club I have been recognized as the MVP, I have achieved this through hard work, dedication, and teamwork. In my club, Fraigcomar F.C., I was top goal scorer and MVP last season. Although individual accomplishments sound great, I am a person who prefers it when the team succeeds as a whole. Last year we won our division and came in second for the U-17 category in Puerto Rico. My school team, The Hurricanes, reached the final even with some injuries. I was one of those injured midway through the season, but that did not stop me from supporting my team.
I always put 100% of myself into reaching my goals. I do not only consider myself an athlete but also a student, one who wants to be successful. My grandmother was a doctor and wanted me to follow in her footsteps. Medicine has always interested me, and now that she has passed away, the goal of following in her footsteps has become clearer in my mind. I am not a player that likes to lose but I also take advantage of those situations in order to learn from my mistakes and become and even better soccer player. I believe that building strong teamwork is the best way towards success. My coaches and teachers describe me as tenacious, coachable, and positive.
